So you are no dentist anymore, did you change jobs ? I know what you mean with "forgetfull" i always forgot to charge the smartwatch so at the end no watch to wear. I found out i do not use the Smart functions at all, just use it for a watch, then why not switch to an old skool watch with battery. The one on the photo is 10+ years old and now i just changed battery and wrist wrap for a new leather one. So after 10 years we see again.

I was a dental lab tech, I made crown and bridge (including implant cases) for the dentists. It was a bit of a forced retirement, as two of my main accounts (50% of my income) retired within about a 2 year span.

Ideally, I wanted to work until I was 70, I retired at 65. The dental lab business has really taken a hit with digital CAD/CAM leveling the playing field, compared to the more labor intensive hand built units (teeth) we used to do. Also, dentists are able to do more chairside with their CAD/CAM equipment taking away some of, if not a lot of work from the labs, except the more complex cases.

Like Morro for years, decades I didn't wear a watch until I moved my business into my house. It's a split level with my dental lab being on the lower level. There were about 2-3 occasions where one of my accounts called me but I forgot my phone upstairs when I took a break or two throughout the day. I did not like missing calls and calling them back, so I bought a Samsung Galaxy watch where it would sync to my Samsung phone and I could answer through the watch if I had left the phone upstairs. It saved me many times, and the voice quality was very good on their end, they said they couldn't tell the difference when I talked into the watch.

Even though I shut the business down, I still wear it for counting steps (I try for at least 7,000 a day if not more) and the "find my phone" feature (as well as "find my watch") both work well. I guess I'm just a little forgetful :)

Morro I think the Eset HIPS with additional hardening is an overkill.

Keep it simple, the HIPS rules already close quite a lot of potential for attacks.

I also generally like to keep things simple, in case "why is this trusted app, document, outbound connection not working, loading" etc., is easier to figure with "less can be best". Otherwise, it can take some time to figure out what the culprit is, but in this case if it's contained in the Eset app itself, would be easier to figure out, troubleshoot.

Blueberries, i m addicted to them.

For about 2 years straight, I would put them on my morning cereal, but it's been a month since I have. Time to get back to them again :)

MoonlitPoise I've had hit and miss issues with apples as far as being to spongy. But figured it out. 2 brands that always seem to be firmer for me are Fuji and Gala. I flick them with the back of my fingernail and listen to the response. If it sounds like a dead thud, I'll try another one, or go to the other brand. I want it to sound like oak wood, nice and bright and loud. I like firm apples :) I'm sure I get looks from people as I'm doing it, as I give them "the look" when they're sniffing fruit LOL ^^

Trident I have noticed that McAfee has a hard time with some pages. I've mentioned this before, but it cannot open dnsleaktest.com, even when disabling the real time protection in Total Protection settings (no ability to disable Web Protection alone).

And to get onto my router page to confirm my TP-Link/Archer firmware is up to date, I had to disable the AV protection to get the page to load. I was getting a non-https page can't be opened message. I've always had to disable any VPNs I was using to get to the login page, but is there any option so I don't have to disable a key protection in McAfee to access that webpage?

    TIA :)

I'm just wondering, when I test browser extensions on Phishtank at time in the past with F-Secure, and even now with Avast using Brave, there will be a slight flash of the red Brave/Chromium's warning page quickly overlaid with the Avast warning. At those times, are the AV browser extensions getting the phishing, webpage "information" from the browsers, Chromium's protection and then display their notice?

In the past with F-Secure I think I've tried to disable the browsers protection to see if the AV extension would catch the page without the flash of the red screen being overlaid with F-Secure's warning, but it would still at those times load first (Brave's warning). With McAfee, that doesn't happen, it just shows its own warning (maybe quickly enough?).

In going side by side on two different notebooks for about 35 minutes last night on Phishtank, one notebook with Avast, the other with McAfee, what at times one would miss, the other would pick up on. They were pretty much even in what they blocked. The advantage with McAfee it just displays the webpage warning, whereas Avast at times has the pop up along with the webpage warning which can at times get lost "behind" the webpage.

My smart tv has an app selection, but I find using the Roku stick works better, it has a better more manageable layout.

I currently subscribe to my local cable providers app for all of the local channels and 3 of my favorite channels that are live with that provider (compared to on-demand) I have a subscription to Netflix as well, currently rewatching Breaking Bad.
