Microsoft's cloud computing platform, Azure, has been hit by a massive blackout just ahead of the company's quarterly earnings report. The Remond giant has communicated about the outage on the Azure status page and its social media accounts.
According to the status page, the Azure outage started around 16:00 UTC (12:00 pm ET). It's affecting Microsoft services and Azure customers who Azure Front Door (AFD), and users may notice latencies, timeouts, and errors.
"We have confirmed that an inadvertent configuration change as the trigger event for this issue," Microsoft says on the Azure status page, which is being periodically updated for the latest updates.
The global Azure outage has affected various products that rely on Microsoft's cloud infrastructure. The list includes its own Microsoft 365, Xbox, and Minecraft. Meanwhile, Alaska Airlines also reported that it is currently experiencing a disruption to key systems, including its websites.
